Here are ten tips that will help you learn Spanish faster:

1. Be patient

The first big piece of advice is: be patient. Learning to speak a language requires patience. It’s hard at first, but little by little you will get used to it and you will start to understand more and more. I will be there to help you with everything you need and to make learning fun and enjoyable.

2. Set realistic goals for yourself

These depend on how much time you can devote to the new language. If you have a lot of time to dedicate to Spanish, your progress will be faster.

If you don’t have a lot of time, don’t worry, it’s a question of organisation. The evolution will be constant, and you will be surprised at how much you will be able to understand and speak Spanish.

3. Organise yourself and your work

At Easy Spanish School I will provide you with a wealth of resources for learning Spanish. But, it is important to make sure you review everything you have learnt and understand it. Then you can organise the material in a way that makes it easier for you to follow. There is nothing more frustrating than looking for the information you need and not finding it.

4. Read in Spanish

The level of Spanish can be improved considerably by reading short articles or short stories on a regular basis. It is also an excellent way to learn common words and expressions quickly. In this way, as well as learning phrases that you can use in your daily life, you will become more confident in your reading and writing skills.

5. Watch movies with Spanish subtitles

This is one of the easiest and most fun activities for learning Spanish. Try to spend time watching series and movies in Spanish or watch them in your native language but with Spanish subtitles. This will be very useful to improve your spoken and listening Spanish. I recommend that you try to watch films that you have already seen, so that you don’t have to focus so much on the plot and you can focus more effort on the language.

6. Study and look up words to expand your vocabulary.

Making a vocabulary list with the translation in your language will help you learn new words. But there are other ways to memorise them more quickly: try drawing, making flash cards with the Spanish word on one side and the picture or translation on the other side, etc. I will also provide you with infographics to help you learn much faster.

7. Don’t be afraid of mistakes.

Making mistakes when learning a language that is not your own is not a bad thing, quite the contrary. Making a mistake indicates that you are making an effort in your learning, and in fact it helps you learn more and better. The native speakers listening to you will value your effort, not whether you make a mistake or not.

8. Listen to music in Spanish.

You can listen to any style of music in Spanish, there are thousands of options. Explore, listen and try to find a song or a group that you like and sing along. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand all the lyrics, but you’ll practice your pronunciation and you’re sure to learn some new words.

9. Travel to Spain

Take the opportunity to travel to Spain and integrate yourself into its culture and daily life. Don’t be shy, speak what you’ve learned at the airport, in the accommodation, in the restaurants,… . 10. Learn with someone who inspires confidence

Learning Spanish can be very frustrating when the results do not come as quickly as expected and it can seem like a never-ending process. The best way to avoid demotivation is to find someone you trust who can support you.
